What if every time we had a limiting thought or excuse we started the sentence with:
The story I tell myself is…
For example, instead of saying:
“I’m stuck, I don’t know what to do”;
We said:
“The story I tell myself is I’m stuck and I don’t know what to do.”
Does this open the door to possibility?
The possibility that this story is self-constructed?
The possibility that perhaps there’s another way?
Hint: There’s almost always another way.
PS. Last week I was interviewed by entrepreneur, best-selling author, and speaker Seth Godin. We riffed on this idea of being ‘stuck’ and his insight into what this label means needs to be heard. You can check it out here.
