The magic of 1%

Here’s an idea.

Pick a skill or a habit that you wish you were better at and commit to improving it by 1% today.

1%.

That’s all.

Tomorrow, do the same thing.

Be 1% better than the day before.

Repeat this cycle for 72 days and you’ll be twice as good at this skill or habit as when you started.

And if you keep going for a full year? You’ll have improved THIRTY SEVEN times over.

Yep, you read that correctly.

We are constantly tempted (read brainwashed) to look for the ‘hack’, the shortcut, the dramatic 3,000% improvement.

That’s why people buy lottery tickets.

To quote Dr Phil (yeah, I’m doing it): “How’s that workin’ out for ya?”.

Instead, what if we focussed on being 1% more generous? Getting 1% more sleep? Or being 1% stronger?

By Tuesday 6th November, you could be twice as generous, twice as rested and twice as strong.

Go.
